New Shelter Hours - Now Open Sundays!

In order to better serve the public and our adoptable pets the Toledo Animal Shelter has changed its hours of operation.

Our Mission:

To care for and to provide temporary and indefinite shelter and care for homeless and abandoned dogs and cats by promoting and sponsoring animal welfare education programs, adoptions, preventative veterinary care, and a mandatory spay/neuter program, with emphasis on a "no kill" policy for our animals.

Pet of the Week

Ellie May.jpg

Ellie May is a dog lover's dream. She's a gorgeous black lab, a little over 2 years old, and she's smart, playful and full of the joy of life. She is very intense girl with unusual amber eyes that focus like laser beams when she's interested in something. Her intensity, coupled with her size, can be a little intimidating, but all Ellie May needs is a job to do, and she's capable of being the best girl in the world. She will play fetch until your arm is ready to fall off, and she's learning the finer points of the game (such as understanding what "drop it" means).
