Volunteer Appreciation Picnic
In honor of our volunteers donating 1,046.45 hours since January 1st 2008, a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic was held at the Shelter on Saturday, September 20, 2008.
The Toledo Animal Shelter would like to take a moment to thank our volunteers and to let all of them know their efforts are greatly appreciated.
Volunteers
Volunteers are critical to the well being of the animals under the care of Toledo Animal Shelter. Socializing, training, fostering, and outreach are just some of the important jobs done by our volunteers. The phenomenal success of the Adoption Program is but a reflection of the ever-increasing dedication and enthusiasm our volunteers contribute.
Volunteer Program
Volunteers are essential since they are an important source of loving care to the shelter animals.
Dog Walkers – A spirited game of “fetch” or a brisk walk can have an immeasurable positive impact on a dog’s day. If you love dogs, this is a wonderful way to spend quality time with those who are awaiting adoption. We need volunteers to walk dogs, provide some basic obedience training, play with dogs …or just spend quiet quality time with them.
Cat Cuddlers – Love to snuggle? So do many of the cats awaiting adoption at our shelter. We need volunteers to cuddle with kittens, play with them, brush them … or just spend quality quiet time with them.
By helping these shelter animals get necessary exercise, playtime and human interaction, volunteers improve their shelter life and make them more appealing to prospective adopters.
