On Wednesday, April 1st. we received a call from a woman who stated that there were some animals abadoned in her neighborhood. They found a mother cat, three kittens and two puppies. She called us and we instructed her to bring them in. One of the puppies, Donna, a 7 week old Shepherd Mix, had a level 6 heart murmur, diagnosed as PDA (patent ductus arteriosus), a congenital heart defect.

The “Come Play All Day at Put-In-Bay” fundraiser put on by the Toledo Animal Shelter and The Jet Express on Sunday, August 23rd was the second annual trip to Put-In-Bay for the animal shelter.

The day started out at the new Toledo Maritime Passenger Ship Terminal located on Front Street. Mother Nature didn't cooperate quite as nicely this year as last. Despite the inclement weather, a good time was had by all.
