Lucy came to the shelter in bad shape, she was almost bald from obvious skin allergies and possible neglect. I walked into work and saw her, despite the visible problems she was happy as a clam wagging her tail excitedly anytime someone walked by. I have loved dachshunds my whole life and had 2 already. But when I saw Lucy... I was in love, my husband and I decided to foster her knowing deep down it would be her permanent home. Since then her skin has cleared and she has become the most amazing dog. Loving, happy and playful she makes a great friend to us and our 2 dogs and cat!!! I would never have met her without the shelter and I am truly blessed to be a part of the Toledo Animal Shelter.
